The role of the Lighting Technician is to set up and run the lighting boards in the main theater and multiple lounges around the ship. You will be assisting with operating equipment for the evening’s Entertainment, as well as helping with daily shows and activities. You will be maintaining strict safety standards, facilitating special group requests (including weddings) and ensuring the Lighting boards all over the ship are fully maintained


You can also expect to work in rotation with other ship technicians for the role of Tech on Duty, performing small setups around the ship on assigned times, and breaking them down afterwards.


Basic design and the ability to program the Lighting boards are essential, and you will NEED to be familiar with moving fixtures (rigs of around 100 movers), running of GrandMA and GrandMA2, ETC and HOG. You will also need to run automated shows so there is time code and TC distribution to various devices.


Must be able to safely climb an A-frame ladder and properly operate a AWP in different heights up to 6 meters (19 feet). Special training, like Reechcraft and GENIE will be provided on board.


On Carnival Cruise Lines, Disney Cruises and other cruise lines, the Light technician is also responsible for the safe storage, handling, and functioning of pyrotechnics and pyrotechnic devices.


Good overall health and physical condition, as on the job you will be required to life or move equipments up to 30kg (65 pounds).


*Preferably with a Degree of: Electrics, Electronics, Lights, and/or other technical fields.


*Preferably with the following Certifications: Bandit Lites Fixtures Maintenance, Martin Factory Certification, Laser Safety Officer (LSO) Certification, Vectorworks CAD Training, Beyond Laser Programming.
