MSC Cruises

MSC Cruises, based in Geneva, Switzerland, is a global cruise line registered in Switzerland. It is part of the Mediterranean Shipping Company S.A. (MSC), the world’s second-largest container shipping operator. Employing approximately 23,500 people worldwide, with offices in 45 countries, MSC Cruises is the fourth-largest cruise company globally, after Royal Caribbean International, Carnival Cruise Line, and Norwegian Cruise Line, holding a 7.2% share of all passengers carried worldwide.

Founded as Lauro Lines in 1960, MSC Cruises initially operated two ships. In 1989, the Mediterranean Shipping Company acquired Lauro Lines, renaming it briefly as StarLauro Cruises before adopting the name MSC Cruises. However, the company has garnered a poor reputation among its crew members, often being viewed as a “last option” employer due to issues such as poor management and inadequate benefits, particularly higher during the South American season or in ships that sail from United States.

In 2021, MSC Cruises announced its own luxury brand, Explora Journeys, with six small vessels in order with the first one to set sail in 2023, with deliveries running through to 2028.

How to apply:

Like many cruise lines, MSC Cruises has its own application portal and does not rely on hiring agencies. Recruitment is focused on it’s own website with general hotel, maritime, and engine positions.

We strongly recommend to apply straight with the company.

But what if the position I want isn’t currently available? Well, you have two options: either create an email alert to be notified when the job is posted, or apply through a recruitment agency.
