Seabourn Cruise Line is an ultra-luxury cruise line and considered one of the best cruise lines in the world, both to sail and to work for, as they have normal and worldwide itineraries, from short seven-day Caribbean cruises to exotic 100+ day around the world cruises.

Seabourn was founded in 1987 by a consortium of Norwegian investors and in 1991, Carnival Corporation purchased a 25% stake in Seabourn. Carnival Corporation upped its stake to 50% in 1996, and purchased the remaining 50% in 1998. In the same year, Carnival bought Cunard and merged both companies, which remained as one until 2002, when Seabourn was de-merged and made again as a single company, still part of the Carnival Corporation.

As being an ultra-luxury company, very high standards of service are expected from all crew members, including those that have little to no contact with guests. Due to this, all crew members are expected to follow a very strict dress and behavior code, which is compensated with very generous gratuities and salaries on board.
