Job Description:
The Experience Coordinator is also known as Entertainment Operations Administrator in some companies. The role manages the shipboard entertainment department’s business and programming operations by overseeing financials, inventory, and administrative planning to ensure a seamless guest experience. This professional utilizes data and Net Promoter Scores to optimize guest flow and create customized entertainment schedules, while simultaneously monitoring the budget to identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality. Working closely with the Entertainment Director and/or Cruise Director, the Coordinator executes key logistical duties including supporting the Enrichment program, Guest Entertainers, and visiting venues, assisting with major milestones such as dry docks, PR events, and vendor relations through precise data tracking, meeting management, and effective information distribution.
This position only exists on major family-oriented cruise lines that offer extra activities for their guests, such as Royal Caribbean, Carnival Cruise Line and Princess Cruises.
Required skills:
Strong administrative and organizational skills (meeting agendas, minutes, inventory tracking) and proficiency in data analysis and reporting (e.g., guest comments, Net Promoter Scores, Ocean Intelligence data) are the most important skills, but a successful candidate should also have the ability to manage budget-related tasks and identify cost-saving opportunities, excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with others within the department and as well as the ship as a whole and strong proficiency in editing softwares including but not limited to MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for reporting and documentation.
This position is for professionals that are detail-oriented, proactive, and able to handle multiple priorities, with strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under extreme pressure.
Recommended skills:
Preferred candidates should have experience on board in any detail-oriented position, good appraisals and although not often mentioned on the job descriptions, a graduation or master’s degree in Business Administration or related fields would most certainty make the difference.
